Macondo Chamber Players (MCP) stands at the forefront of an exciting new generation in classical music. Founded in 2012 by violinist Jose Romero and pianist Carlos Vargas, MCP brings together established and emerging artists from Latin America and the world to perform chamber music, teach young people, and encourage international understanding.Up to this date, MCP has toured extensively throughout South America and Europe. Performance highlights include concerts at the ProMusica Festival and Sala Carlos Chavez in Mexico; Sala Carlos Piantini, Dominican Republic and Teatro Mayor Julio Mario SantoDomingo in Colombia.

While committed to the highest standards of music making, MCP is also passionately committed to education. MCP’s educational programs follow the belief that artists today have an undeniable moral commitment to teach, share, and collaborate with young people, especially those coming from the poorest strata of society.
